LAST CHRISTMAS (ONE SHOT) (CHRISTMAS FANFIC)

LAST CHRISTMAS

“Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas Let your heart be light From now on, our troubles will be out of sight...”

Yoochun quickly stopped and stared blankly at the TV screen.

“Why are they playing English Christmas songs all of a sudden,” Changmin complained as he immediately stood up and turned off the TV. Worriedly, he looked at his friend and then sighed.

Jaejoong just sadly turned to look at Yoochun, who was already at the door. “I suddenly remembered I need something from the grocery. I’m going out for a while,” Yoochun uttered.

“Be sure to come back before 12. Remember it’s Christmas Eve,” Yunho reminded his friend.

As soon as Yoochun left, Changmin quickly faced the other DBSK members with a worried look on his face.

“He’s at it again,” he commented with a deep sigh.

“Haven’t you gotten used to it? He’s like that every year ever since we met him. It’s like his Christmas ritual or something,” Junsu replied with a light laugh. He was trying to make the atmosphere a little less gloomy.

“Christmas time is really hard for him…” Jaejoong said with a low voice.

Yunho nodded his head. “We just have to let him be,” he said with sympathy.
“Sometimes I wish Christmas wouldn’t come at all. But I know it’s impossible. I pity hyung so much,” Changmin said with pain in his voice.

The other DBSK boys sighed. It was hopeless to even try to cheer up their friend at this time of the year. Every year, during Christmas… he had his own special world that they can’t seem to enter.

  ******************************************************************

Yoochun walked without an exact destination. He lied when he said that he needed to buy something. He just needed to get some fresh air to clear his head. He passed by a store and paused. The store had some Santa Claus figurines displayed on a glass rack. Instantly something flashed in his mind… a very familiar memory.

“Oh, those figurines are quite nice. You should buy one,” a female voice suddenly said out of the blue.

Startled, Micky quickly looked at the young woman standing in front of him. She was a very attractive girl about 15 years old, with long and straight black hair.
The girl smiled and slowly the deep dimples on both sides of her face appeared. “The figurines are nice. You should buy one,” she repeated.
As if in a trance, Yoochun nodded his head and quickly went inside the store. Only minutes passed, and he slowly stepped out of the store holding a plastic large bag.

The girl squealed with delight. “You bought all of it?” she asked as if making sure.

Again Yoochun nodded.

“Those figurines would look great under a Christmas tree,” the girl said innocently.  “Christmas is a very special time that only happens once in a year, just think of it as your birthday. So you should be happy.”

“But it isn’t my birthday? So why should I be happy… when…” he suddenly stopped talking. He couldn’t continue what he was wanted to say. It was as if something was stuck in his throat and his mouth couldn’t form the words playing in his mind.

The girl took a long look at him before putting on a smile again. “Cheer up. It’s not the end of the world. Everything will be all right.”

Yoochun stared at the young girl, quite amazed. “How can you say that?”
The girl smiled. “Simple. I just accept things as they come.  You should too. It will certainly lighten the burden you’re carrying,” she replied.

Yoochun turned to look at something else. He didn’t want the girl to see the tears that were trying to escape from his eyes.

“I am going to the park. Would you like to come with me?” the girl asked sweetly.

“Park? I guess… I can come with you. I don’t have anything to do today,” he replied.

Silently they walked to the park. And every now and then, Yoochun would glance at the young girl walking beside him.

As soon as they reached the entrance of the park, the girl stopped and faced him. “We’re here. What do you want to do now?” she asked with a bright smile.
“Why are you asking me? You’re the one who wanted to come here,” he replied as if annoyed.

The girl pouted her lips in a cute manner. It quickly made Yoochun stare at her with something visible in his eyes….

“We only have a few hours before it’s finally Christmas. Have you made your Christmas wish yet?” she asked as she again looked at him.

Yoochun shook his head. “Christmas wishes are for children. I am not a kid anymore,” he simply replied.

“You have certainly become so bitter. You’re not like that,” she uttered with sadness.

“Many things change as time passes by,” he replied with a hidden meaning.
She looked straight into his eyes. “Yes, time changes everything,” she repeated.

A young couple suddenly passed by Yoochun…. They both looked at him with a strange expression on their faces, but he didn’t care. He just pretended that he didn’t see them.

“Come on, let’s go stroll the whole park. I have decided that is what I want to do today,” she said happily. The smile on the girl’s lips made Yoochun’s heart melt.  “Would you like to accompany me…. Or maybe you have other things to do?” the girl asked with hesitation.

Yoochun tried to put on a smile. “I told you I don’t have anything to do today. So if you want to go strolling, then I will gladly accompany you.”

“Thank you,” she uttered sweetly.

   **********************************************************************

Time quickly passed…. It was already an hour before midnight.                   Yoochun and the young girl were already sitting on a park bench. They were sitting on both ends of the long bench. It was as if they were afraid of being close to each other.

“Thank you,” the girl unexpectedly uttered.

“Thank you for what?” Yoochun asked while keeping his eyes straight in front of him.

“Thank you for spending some time with me. Thank you for…. remembering me,” she slowly uttered.

Yoochun felt a sharp pain in his heart after hearing what the girl said.

“Do you remember the last time we were together?” she asked.

“No,” Yoochun answered with coldness. He didn’t have the heart to remember.
The girl sadly looked at him. “You have to remember. You must remember. For your sake… I want you to remember. It’s time for you to accept everything,” she said with a serious tone in her voice.

“No. I am happy with the way things are right now. I don’t want to accept any changes,” he uttered with bitterness in his voice.

“You’re happy? Are you sure you’re happy? What about me? Have you asked me… if I am happy?” she asked.

Yoochun stared at the girl. “What do you want from me?” he quickly shouted.  “Okay, I will ask you…. Are you happy? Are you satisfied?” he asked with a raised voice.

“The answer is… no. How can I be happy when I see you’re suffering? How can I rest when you keep calling out to me? How can I leave when you keep on holding on to me?” she replied.

“Then… don’t leave. You don’t have to leave. We can be like this… forever,” he said as if he was going mad.

The girl looked at Yoochun, quite horrified with what she heard. “Are you really going insane Yoochun? We can’t be like this forever… You have to move on…. And I… I need to go… somewhere,” she said as she tried to control herself from crying.

“Then take me with you,” he quickly uttered without any hesitation. “Take me with you… please,” he said with so much agony in his voice.

The girl stared blankly in front of her. “Remember the night we were together and I was asking you to come with me to the park?” she started to reminisce.
“Stop! I don’t want to hear it,” Yoochun shouted. He immediately covered his ears. He was too afraid to remember the things that happened in the past.
In just a wink of an eye, the young girl was already sitting beside him.                   “Remember…. it was also Christmas Eve…. seven years ago… “ the girl’s voice somehow started to echo.

It was like Yoochun was drawn into a dream… He was drawn into a memory he had tried so hard to forget.

“Yoochun, please come with me. I want to go to the park. I have something special to give you… and … I also want to tell you something,” a young girl said. She was about 15 years old with a long, straight and black hair.                   They were standing outside of a convenience store that was near their homes.
“Sorry, Min Rin. I have other plans. I am going out with some of friends from school. Maybe we can just go to the park some other time,” he replied.
“But… I have been planning this for so long. How about just an hour? We can take a stroll… then maybe play in the swing, ” she said with sadness and desperation.
Yoochun shook his head. “Sorry, I don’t want to play in the park. Honestly… I would rather hang out with the friends I have now. They are more fun to be with, and they don’t go around acting like kids anymore,” he said heartlessly.
“Kids? But I thought you loved hanging out with me? I thought you loved going to the park with me?” she asked continuously.

Yoochun laughed. “That was before. I am older now. I don’t want to play silly games anymore. I want some changes in my life.”

Sad and hurt, she quickly took out the gift she had in her bag. “If you really don’t want to go to the park, then I might as well give this to you now. Merry Christmas Yoochun!” she said as she still tried to act like she was happy.
“A gift for me? I’m sorry… I didn’t even remember to buy you a gift,” he said softly.

“It’s okay. You can always give me a gift later,” she replied sweetly. “Go on and open it. I know you will love it.”

He excitedly opened his gift. He was somehow expecting something special. But…

“What’s this? A figurine?” he asked, unable to believe what he was holding. Annoyed and disappointed, he quickly placed the figurine inside the box. “What a silly gift. I think you should just give it to someone else.”

Min Rin felt like she wanted to cry instantly. But she still tried to act like she was okay. “Give it to someone else? But it is for you…. I bought it with the money I saved.”

Yoochun laughed as if teasing. “Then you just wasted your money. I don’t want it.”

With trembling hands, Min Rin carefully took back the box containing the figurine she bought. “Are you sure… you don’t want it?” she asked again as if still hoping that he would change his mind.

He quickly shook his head. “Sorry, but thanks anyway. Maybe you can give it to someone else. So at least, your money won’t go to waste.”

“I’m sorry,” she said with a low voice. “But I will buy another… Maybe I can give it to you before New year,” she quickly added.

He laughed. “Don’t even bother.”

Min Rin felt so useless and degraded. The only person that meant so much to her was now someone she hardly knew. “How come you’ve changed so much? It’s only been a year since you met your new friends. While I have been with you ever since we were just small children. How come you’re…” she suddenly stopped talking and looked at him. “If I really don’t mean anything to you, then just go. I will just go to the park alone.”

Yoochun felt guilty after seeing the tears in her eyes. She meant so much to her. But she was starting to get on his nerves. There were times she was being too close to him that he was beginning to be afraid. He was beginning to feel something more than friendship, but he was afraid to even let it out. He was scared to be rejected and hurt. So he just tried to hide everything, wishing that all his feelings would just fade away as time passed by.

“Hey, don’t cry,” he said with a sweet voice and carefully wiped away a tear that had found its way down her cheek. “Promise, I will go with you to the park some other time… but not now, okay?”

A smile immediately appeared on her lips, then she nodded like an obedient girl. “Yes, I understand. Promise, you will go with me next time I ask you … okay?” she asked back.

Yoochun lightly laughed. “Yes, I promise. You’re being so childish again. Stop crying and just go home. It’s late. You might suddenly catch a cold or something,” he said with concern.

Min Rin nodded her head. “I’m going now,” she said cheerfully as she quickly turned around.

“Hey, be careful on your way home,” Yoochun shouted as he also turned around to go to another direction.

It only took a few minutes … a few steps… when he heard a loud screeching sound. He quickly turned around just to be horrified with the scene not far from him.

“There’s an accident… Call an ambulance,” he heard someone shout out.
He hurriedly rushed to her side. She was lying on the ground with blood profusely flowing from a wound on her head.

“Min Rin…” was all he could utter.

She was still conscious but she was already moaning in pain. She slowly focused her eyes on him, after hearing him call her name. “Yoochun…”
He dropped down on his knees as he quickly lost his strength. “How? Why?” he suddenly voiced out.

“I… I… just picked up my gift for you. I accidentally dropped it when someone bumped unto me. I wasn’t looking… I didn’t see the car,” she tried to explain as blood slowly rushed out of her mouth.

Yoochun cried. He didn’t know what to do or how to help her. So he just took out his handkerchief and carefully wiped away the blood that was coming out of her mouth. “Ssshhhh… Don’t talk. Just save your strength. Help is coming. You will be in a hospital in just a little while. So just try to hold on, okay?”

Tears filled her eyes. “I’m sorry. My gift is broken now,” she said as she tried to hold out the broken piece of figurine she was holding.

With trembling hands, he took the figurine. The arms were already missing.
“I’m sorry, Yoochun. I don’t think I will be able to give you another gift,” she uttered with a weakening voice.

He tried to smile. “No, it’s okay. This one is fine,” he said with a quivering voice as tears continuously flowed from his eyes.

More blood rushed out of her mouth as she lightly coughed. She was already finding it hard to talk. It was like her air was beginning to be sucked out of her body… slowly and agonizingly. Again she moaned because of the intense pain she was feeling.

Yoochun cried harder as he witnessed her suffering. “Hold on,” he kept on repeating as he tightly held on to her hand.

“It’s painful…” she was able to utter.

Yoochun felt his heart was being crushed and torn into a million pieces. How he wished he was the one in her situation. How he wished… he wished that everything was just a dream.

As fast as the pain came, the relief also quickly followed. Min Rin was feeling a bit better all of a sudden. Her whole body was slowly starting to feel a soothing coldness. The pain was disappearing bit by bit and was being replaced by an unexplainable cold feeling.

“Yoochun, it’s cold,” she uttered again. “I think… I will just close my eyes for a while…” she said with a very low voice.

“No, don’t close your eyes. Hold on… Help is coming… Just look at me….” He shouted with panic. He then looked around at the faces of the people surrounding them. “Help me… Someone…. Help us… Please call an ambulance,” he begged.

Some of the women who were watching Yoochun and Min Rin were already crying. Somehow they couldn’t stop but feel pity for both of them.                   “We already called for help,” a man suddenly said.

“Did you hear that? I told you everything will be all right. Help is on the way. All you’ve got to do… “ he suddenly stopped talking as soon as his eyes focused on her again.

Her eyes were already closed and a serene and calm look was already on her face.

“Min Rin?...” he uttered as he squeezed her hand. But it was only then he realized the frightening coldness of her hand. “Min Rin? Come on. Open your eyes. Don’t scare me like this. We still need to go to the park… remember? You said you’re going to tell me something… You… You….” He uttered as he finally lost his voice and just found himself weeping uncontrollably.

A strong light flashed… and Yoochun instantly found himself looking straight into Min Rin’s eyes.

“I’m sorry,” he uttered as tears trailed down his face.

She gave him a sad look before finally speaking again. “Do you remember now? I am dead Yoochun. I have been dead for the last seven years.”

“No! You’re not dead. You’re here with me,” he shouted angrily.

She shook her head as she disapproved of what he was doing. “You have to let me go, Yoochun. You have to free yourself from all the memories… You have to forgive yourself…”

“If you’re dead…. Then why are you here… with me?” he said as if he was going mad.

“I am here… because of you. You keep holding on to me… so I can’t move on… I can’t rest. For the passed seven years, I have constantly appeared to you just to ease the pain you’re feeling. Sometimes I also get confused of what I am… a ghost?... a creation of your imagination?... a wandering soul? Honestly I don’t know. But the main point is I am tired already,” she said with a weak voice.

“What are you saying? You want to leave me? Is that what you want? You’re tired of me?” he asked continuously as if trying to start a fight.

“You know I don’t want to leave you. But I think it’s time for you to move on with your life… a life without me. I no longer belong in this world. And yet you keep making me come back. You’re holding me so tight… I can’t find the light. I want to rest already,” she replied.

“But I can’t live without you. If you go… I don’t know what I would do. So please don’t leave me,” he begged.

“Yoochun, we can’t be like this forever,” she uttered.

“Yes, we can. I can just go on pretending… and…” he tried to reason with her.
“This will be our last Christmas together… After this I won’t be appearing to you anymore,” she said with a low voice.

Surprised, he stared at her. He was trying to make sure if what she said was true. Grief, quickly entered his heart after seeing the answer in her eyes.
“So… this is goodbye?” he asked back with pain in his voice.

She nodded. “Let’s make this time very memorable. I want to leave you with happy memories,” she uttered.

Right at that moment, somehow he wanted to scream out loud. He felt so miserable and lost. He then glanced at her again. A feeling of remorse crept into his heart. How he wished if he could only turn back time. He then started to weep pitifully.

Min Rin sadly stared at him. How she wished she could hold him…. “I said I wanted to leave you with happy memories… and now you’re crying? How can I leave when you’re acting like this? You know I won’t be able to rest if you keep on punishing yourself. You have to stop blaming yourself. What happened was just an accident. No one… especially not you could have known that it was going to happen. So please stop blaming yourself for my death.”

He looked at her as tears continuously flowed from his eyes. “For the last seven years… I have continuously asked myself … what if… what if I had gone to the park with you that night… maybe you would still be alive today. Sometimes I kept on thinking I should have just gone out with you instead… I should have accepted your gift… I should have stayed with you… I should have gone home with you… There were so many possibilities that night… It all depended on me and my decisions. I was stupid… I was so... so stupid. I was selfish and the result is… I lost you.”

Tears were already flowing from her eyes, by the time he finished saying those words. She loved him… more than a friend. But she never got the chance to tell him. And now… it was already too late. She felt it was already useless to tell him. It would only cause him more pain, if she told him the truth.
“I know it’s painful. But you have to let me go, Yoochun…. for both our sakes,” she said as she tried to control herself. How she wanted to cry uncontrollably… one last time.

“You know the only reason why I stayed sane these passed few years is because you still appeared to me. What if… if I don’t learn how to accept the fact that you’re really gone and I suddenly lose myself? What then? I am afraid…. I don’t want you to go… I can’t let you go. Even if you say a million times that I have to forget you… I won’t be able to do it,” he uttered with so much anguish in his voice.

“You’re already ruining your life because of me, Yoochun. People are starting to think you’re crazy, because you talk to yourself when there is no one around. They can’t see me… So they think you’re losing it. You have to stop now… I don’t want you to be like this forever… It makes me sad seeing you in that kind of situation,” she tried to explain.

“I don’t care about what other people think! What I care about is that I am happy. I am happy with you,” he voiced out.

She shook her head in disapproval. “No matter what you say, I have decided to leave you. It is for your own good. This will be the last time that we will see each other. So please just accept it,” she begged.

Yoochun wept. “No. I… I…” he uttered as he covered his face with his hands. He was completely lost and angry at everything around him, especially with himself. But he knew she was right. He really had to let her go. He knew she was tired and she needed to rest.

“Yoochun, it’s almost time for me to leave…” she uttered sadly.

He quickly looked at her with panic and fear in his eyes. “No! Don’t go…” he said as he unconsciously tried to hold her. But his hands just passed through thin air. And then his tears flowed out again as reality struck him hard. She was really gone and there was nothing else he could do to change it.

“I’m sorry, Yoochun…” she uttered with complete sadness in her eyes. “But it’s time…”

“No… please stay a little while longer…” he begged. He wanted more time to be with her…. even if it was for the last time.

“I can’t. I have to go…” she said as she slowly stood up. She faced him and smiled sweetly. “Before I go, can you do a small favor for me?”                   Yoochun nodded.

She smiled again. “Can you stop crying first?” she lovingly teased him like the way she used to do.

Yoochun lightly laughed. How he missed her playful ways. He quickly wiped away his tears. He needed to be strong. He needed to let her have her peace.

“So what is this favor? You can ask for anything… even money… I have lots of money already saved up,” he said as he tried to joke around.

Min Rin lightly laughed, while Yoochun’s heart skipped a beat after hearing her. How she missed her laugh. And he knew it would be the last time that he would be hearing it.

“What I am going to ask is quite simple… I hope you can do it,” she uttered seriously.

“Anything for you,” he replied without hesitation.

She looked at him seriously before finally speaking. “Please try to live a happy and full life. When I am finally up in heaven, I want to see you happy… with your career, your family, your friends …. and with someone special who will take care of you,” she somehow found it very hard to say the last words.

Yoochun sighed heavily. He was crying and dying inside. But he still found the strength to smile and nod his head.

After seeing his answer, she smiled back. She was at peace now.                   Unexpectedly a bright light suddenly appeared behind her. She turned around to look at it. “I guess it is time for me to leave,” she uttered with sadness in her voice.

“Before you go… can I ask you something?” he quickly uttered.

Min Rin turned to face Yoochun, and nodded. “Yes, what is it?”

“What did you want to tell me… on that night … you… died?” he was finally able to ask.

Min Rin’s heart started to beat wildly. She didn’t know if she still needed to tell him about her true feelings for him. She knew if she told him that she loved him… there is a chance that he would just hold on to her again. She gave him one last look before finally deciding that he still deserved the right to know… She stared seriously at him. “Do you know the one thing I regret most after I died?” she asked sadly.

“No, what is it?” he asked curiously.

She was about to answer when the light started to grow brighter… and then she started to slowly fade away.

“Min Rin…” Yoochun cried out.

Tears flowed out of Min Rin’s eyes…

“The one thing I regret the most is that I never got the chance to hear what your answer was to my question…”

“What? What question are you talking about?”  he asked, quite confused.
“Goodbye, Yoochun… Take care…” she uttered as she finally disappeared into a thin mist.

“Min Rin… wait… Min Rin…” he called out as he tried to reach out for her. But she was already gone.

*******************************************************************

“Rise and shine, sleepy head! Wake up… it’s Christmas for god’s sake. Our families are already outside and celebrating,” Jaejoong said. “What time did you arrive? Sorry we didn’t wait for you. But we were already too sleepy,” he apologized.

“It’s okay… I’m sorry too… for being late. I had something important to take care of,” Yoochun replied.

“Oh, while you were out yesterday… I suddenly had the urge to clean your room,” Jaejoong said.

“Thanks,” Yoochun replied as he yawned.

Jaejoong was already at the door when he suddenly turned around. “Oh by the way, I found a weird looking Santa Claus figurine in your stuff I placed it in the box over there beside the table.”

Yoochun’s eyes became round with shock. Min Rin’s figurine… he totally forgot about it. He still had it.

Only a minute passed, and he was already looking at the gift that Min Rin gave him.

“What question are you talking about?” he asked as if talking to the figurine. He carefully turned and checked every detail of the figurine. He smiled. Min Rin was right. It was a nice figurine. The details were perfect. Too bad, it was broken now. He was about to place the figurine back into his drawer when he noticed something. There was a small button hidden in the figurine’s chest area.

Curiously, he pushed it. And something familiar started to play… Min Rin’s voice started to echo in the room.

“Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas Let your heart be light From now on, our troubles will be out of sight...”

“Did you like my song Yoochun? Surprised? (she laughed). I just fell in love with this figurine the moment I saw it and I loved it even more after I learned that I could record my voice using it. (she laughed again). I guess after you received this gift. I have already done what I was supposed to do… I had been planning to tell you about my true feelings for you for quite sometime now. But I never really gathered enough courage to do so. But after some serious thinking, I decided to do it on Christmas Eve. I sort of think, it’s perfect and romantic. I hope I did okay… (she laughed lightly). Did I shock you? Hope not. I really do love you Yoochun… and I do hope you can answer my question now… Do you love me too?”

It was then the recording stopped.

Yoochun felt his whole body was trembling. He finally knew… “Min Rin…” he uttered with a cry. “Wherever you are, I hope you can hear me… I want you to know my answer… I love you too, Min Rin. I love you too…”

LOVE ME AGAIN (FAN FICTION) (CHAPTER 20)

CHAPTER 20

It only took an hour before Micky and Ellie returned with all the ingredients that she needed.

As soon as she entered the kitchen, she quickly started to prepare everything. Some of the female staff members were already in the kitchen too. They were just about to prepare something to eat. But the moment they learned that Ellie was going to cook them a special meal. They quickly left the main kitchen area and just sat down on the nearby tables in the kitchen that also serves as the dining area.

Micky just sat in one corner of the room while looking at Ellie. Somehow he couldn’t stop himself from staring at her. She just seemed to grow more and more beautiful, the longer he stared at her.

“What are you going to prepare Ellie?” One of the female staff asked curiously.
“Secret,” Ellie uttered with a smile.

“I’m sure it will be delicious. Oh, I can’t wait…” another female staff said excitedly.

Several other male staff entered the kitchen.

“What’s the meal for today?” one of the male staff asked curiously.

“Ellie is preparing all of us a special set of dishes today,” a female staff answered proudly.

“Oh… I will just have to stay here until it’s cooked. I want to be the first one to eat,” another male staff said jokingly.

It was then that Xiah, Max, U-Know and Jaejoong entered the kitchen too.
“What’s cooking?” Max quickly asked.

A male staff laughed. “Ask Ellie…. She’s the one who’s cooking today,” the man answered.

Max looked at Ellie. But then she quickly smiled back. “Secret…. So don’t ask,” she uttered.

“Do you need any help? Those ingredients are too many for you to prepare all by yourself,” one of the female staff suddenly said.

“No, thanks. I can handle it. I am used to preparing several dishes all at once.” Ellie answered politely.

“Oh… I see. Honestly I am not that good in cooking too. And just by looking at you, I can see that you’re really experienced. You work so fast and somehow you’re really a good cook,” the female staff said.

Jaejoong first looked at Micky’s direction, then stared at the different ingredients scattered on the kitchen counter. A smile suddenly appeared on his lips. He already knew what Ellie was preparing. He slowly approached her and then took out an apron under the counter. He then started to cut and prepare the other ingredients with the speed and precision that was a perfect match with Ellie’s cooking skills.

Ellie suddenly stopped and stared at Jaejoong. Somehow she wanted to stop him, but as soon as she saw him preparing and cooking. Old memories started to flash in her mind, memories that made her heart warm and happy.

“He still remembers the special dishes we used to prepare. I wonder if he still cooks them… even if I had been gone for such a long time,” the words started to fill her head.

Everyone who was in the kitchen couldn’t help but be amazed with the perfect movements that Ellie and Jaejoong were doing. It was like they were in a cooking show and all their movements were so professional and calculated.

Another astonishing thing was that they didn’t even need to talk to finish all the dishes. Jaejoong already knew everything that Ellie was preparing and somehow Ellie knew exactly what to do next that matched each and every move that Jaejoong was doing.

“Hey, how come Jaejoong knows all the foods she’s preparing? I don’t even know some of the ingredients she’s using. So how come they can work so perfectly? Have they cooked in a cooking show before?” a male asked the other staff members jokingly.

“Hey, look at them. They look so perfect together. Like husband and wife, preparing their meal together,” one of the female staff teased.

“Come to think of it, they do look good together. Somehow I get the feeling they would make a perfect match especially since they work so good together in the kitchen. You can never find that special trait in a man nowadays,” another female staff commented.

Micky who was sitting quietly in a corner was already very jealous and angry. He didn’t like the idea that Jaejoong was helping Ellie and that he was getting close to her.

As Ellie and Jaejoong prepared and cooked, Jaejooong’s heart was singing in perfect happiness.

“She still remembers the special meals we made. She still cooks them… At least, now I know there is still a part of our past that she doesn’t hate,” the words were repeating over and over in Jaejoong’s mind.

After they finished cooking…

“Wow… the two of you are really such good cooks. Maybe the two of you are really meant to be with each other…. I think you should open up a restaurant and you can both be the cooks. Make sure to call me when that happens… I know your restaurant will be a total hit. Both your cooking skills are excellent,” the director of their project said jokingly.

Jaejoong just stayed quiet and just bowed his head and smiled, while Ellie just gave Jaejoong stolen glances every now and then. She couldn’t deny the fact that she was grateful and happy. She couldn’t believe that he still remembered…

*********************

Everyone had already finished eating and had left the kitchen… Only Ellie, Samar, Krizzia and the DBSK boys were left.

“I will help you wash the dishes,” Krizzia said to Ellie.

“No, you just sit… I can do it. This is my special treat for you guys. Both you and Samar had been taking good care of me. It’s only fair that I take care of you guys every now and then too,” Ellie said with a smile.

Jaejoong quickly stood up and went to Ellie’s side and started helping her.
“You don’t need to help me too…. Jae…” somehow Ellie found it hard to say his name.

“I am helping you because I want to. It’s the least thing I can do… “ Jaejoong uttered with a hidden meaning.

Xiah, U-Know and Max started to exchange glances with each other. They were already sensing the tension that was building in the air. They knew Micky was already jealous and mad as well. They could easily see the strange reaction on his face.

Max couldn’t help but scratch his head in total frustration. He was sensing that trouble was going to start any moment.

Micky just kept quiet. He was already going to burst. But he was still trying to control his emotions. He didn’t want to make a scene, especially when there were other people just outside the kitchen who could easily hear what they were saying.

Jaejoong and Ellie continued to wash the dishes together. And just like the way they cooked, they also cleaned the dishes like their movements were synchronized.

Both Samar and Krizzia couldn’t help but stare and watch the two as they did the chore.

“Funny. I never thought I would enjoy watching someone cleaning the dishes,” Krizzia uttered with a sigh. Somehow she was beginning to imagine herself with her future husband in the same situation.

“Actions really do speak louder than words, don’t you think?” Samar suddenly asked Krizzia.

Puzzled, Krizzia just looked at her friend. Then after a few minutes of deep thinking suddenly realized what Samar was talking about. “I think we should just keep quiet,” she said to Samar with a low voice.

Samar couldn’t help but smile. She then nodded her head, and then looked at Micky’s direction. She immediately saw the jealousy and hurt look on his face. Somehow she pitied him, but then again. She knew it was something that was going to happen no matter how hard they tried to avoid it.

“Thank you for helping…. I think I can finish everything now. You don’t have to help me anymore,” Ellie uttered to Jaejoong.

Jaejoong smiled which somehow made Ellie’s heart suddenly beat faster. “Don’t worry. I will help you until we finish everything,” he said with a warm voice.

It was then that Micky suddenly stood up and went to where Ellie and Jaejoong were. He grabbed Ellie by the hand. “Come on… Jaejoong can take care of those by himself… Let’s go out for a walk,” he said with a serious tone.               Ellie looked at Jaejoong. But he just smiled back at her. “Go… He’s right. I can take care of these. You should rest and have some fun with him. Go and take a stroll,” he uttered sweetly.

Ellie felt like her heart was being crushed with the sadness and pity she was feeling at that moment.

“Come on…” Micky said again as he took off the apron that Ellie was wearing and then he pulled her straight to the door.

“Samar, Krizzia… I will just be out for a while okay. And… Jaejoong… thank you for helping me,” Ellie quickly uttered before leaving.

Samar just nodded. “Okay…” she said as she glanced at Jaejoong’s direction. He had already continued cleaning the dishes as if he didn’t care that Ellie left him. Samar couldn’t help but shake her head as she pitied him. She couldn’t even try to imagine the kind of pain he was feeling at that moment.

“Hyung… are you all right? Would you like me to help you?” Max asked with concern.

Jaejoong tried to put on a smile. “No, I can finish this alone.”

U-Know stood up and quickly took one of the plates from Jaejoong. “I will help… You know we are always here to help you,” he said with a caring smile.
Xiah and Max also stood up and started to help as well.   “We will help you in anyway we can… So don’t try to carry all the load by yourself. We are all friends here… no matter what happens,” Xiah said seriously.

Jaejoong didn’t know what to say. Slowly tears slipped from his eyes.

How he wished that Micky still considered him as his friend also. But he knew just by judging Micky’s actions… he had already lost him….   He tried to hold all his emotions in. He didn’t want the others to see his tears. Somehow he couldn’t help but pity himself. He had already lost the only woman he loved, and now… he had already lost one of his best friends. He then smiled bitterly. “Can life be much cruel than this?” he started to ask himself.

BORROWED FROM GOD (FAN FICTION) (CHAPTER 22)

CHAPTER 22

Muko continuous cried in Hikaru’s arms. “Hikaru, I feel so small right now. It’s like I don’t even know if I can face him anymore,” she tried to utter.

“Sshhh… don’t worry we’ll sort everything out. Maybe it was just a misunderstanding. You know, you can’t really blame him. He knows that both of you were just forced into this marriage, so maybe he’s just taking that fact into consideration. And don’t forget, he’s a superstar… So basically he’s always thinking about his career and his status… Don’t take everything he said so seriously. You know men are like parrots. Sometimes they just talk and talk without even thinking what they are really saying,” Hikaru tried to calm down her sister.

Muko shook her head. “I know what he said comes from his heart. He doesn’t really like me,” she uttered as she continued to cry.

“Micky, you’re going to pay for this…” Hikaru kept on repeating in her mind.

*******************

Two days passed…

Micky sadly stared out the window. He was already back in the DBSK boys’ apartment.

“Hyung, you know… you should just try and talk to her, maybe try and explain,” Max suggested. He had been observing his friend acting like he wasn’t himself for the last two days.

Micky smiled bitterly. “Explain? What can I explain? She already heard everything right? I would just be lying if I tried to clear out some of the hurtful things I said.”

U-Know shook his head. “You know you should have been more careful with your words.”

Micky bent down his head in defeat. “I know. But it was an accident. I never really expected her to just appear and hear everything I said.”

“Talk about a sudden change of events… One day, you’re getting engaged. Second day, you’re getting married…. Third day, your wife runs away. Then what? Fourth day, you get divorced?” Xiah uttered.

“Hey, don’t talk like that,” Jaejoong suddenly said out loud. “You’re all being negative. Why don’t you guys think of a way to fix everything up?”

“What way? And do you think she would even talk to me after all that happened?” Micky asked with a low voice.

“Well you haven’t tried talking to her… So how will you know, if you don’t even try?” Jaejoong replied sarcastically.

“Jaejoong’s got a point there,” U-Know immediately agreed.

“Hey, are you guys against me or what?” Micky asked as if somewhat feeling hurt.

“Well, we’re just giving you all the facts. Besides the two of you should try and work things out first. I really don’t think it’s nice that your wife is spending your first days as husband and wife in her own home and you in our apartment. If one of the press people gets a leak on that news, it will surely land on the front page,” Xiah uttered.

“The best thing to do now is go to Muko’s house and get her. The two of you should be together. Even if your marriage is an arranged marriage, you are still responsible of taking care of her,” U-Know said seriously.

“Hyung, you must try and sort out the problem before it really goes out of control and… before her scary sister gets involved again. You wouldn’t want to make her angry, would you?” Max said as he suddenly shivered in fear after remembering the frightening look of Hikaru during the time she was mad.
“Yes, don’t get Hikaru angry again. You wouldn’t want her to go on a rampage again,” Jaejoong uttered with a light laugh.

Micky suddenly laughed as well after hearing what his friends said. “You guys are just too funny.”

Max was about to say something when they heard the door bell ring.

“Are you guys expecting any guests?” U-Know asked the other members curiously.

The other DBSK boys just shook their heads.

“Nope… maybe it’s Muko,” Max said with a grin. Somehow he was trying to tease Micky.

Micky suddenly gave Max a serious look, then playfully threw a throw pillow at his direction. “Just stop it… I am going nuts already just thinking about what to do.”

Max laughed. Then he stood up and went to open the door. “I’m going to see who it is… Just make sure to buy me a big basket of fruits, if it happens to be Muko okay,” he again teased.

“Max…” Micky uttered as if a warning.

Xiah, Jaejoong, U-Know and Micky were all surprised after seeing who entered the room.

“Are you really planning to let my sister mope around our house while you go and have fun with your friends? Don’t you have plans to get your wife and patch things up with her?” Hikaru suddenly said out loud as soon as she saw Micky.
Micky just bent down his head and shook his head. “Honestly I don’t know how to face her after what happened. Somehow I don’t know what to say and how to make up to her,” he answered.

“You’re a man! Think of something… if you have to… lie,” she quickly replied.
“Lie?” Max uttered in amazement. “How can you allow Micky to lie to your own sister? Shouldn’t you be angry if he lied to her?” he asked curiously.

Hikaru stared at Max. “You’re still young. So you don’t know how the real world works. Lies can hurt but it also make things better depending on the situation. As of now, the only thing that can fix everything is if your friend make up some lies just to make my sister happy.”

Jaejoong shook his head in disbelief. “You’re really unbelievable. You’re the very first woman I met that would even suggest lying as a way to make her sister happy.”

Hikaru gave Jaejoong a sharp look. “We have our own reasons for doing the things that we do. So don’t try to judge me by the things I am doing. Everything is for Muko’s sake. I would do anything for her… Lie… and even destroy…” she said with a hint of warning in her voice.

Max shivered in fear again. “The devil sister has returned,” he said in his mind.
Micky chuckled. “Your intimidation won’t work on me.  So just save it. I will get her when I finally have the strength to face her,” he said with a  cold tone.
Hikaru unexpectedly smiled. “Somehow you’re really different from all the men I met. You’re really stubborn… just like me. I like that. But I hope you make up your mind fast or else you wouldn’t want me to do anything drastic, would you?”
“Don’t frighten me, it won’t work,” Micky said as he shot Hikaru a sharp look.
“I really like your personality… the perfect match for my sister. I will be going now. But don’t take too long. Muko is already planning to go out of the country. I will try to delay her plans as long as I can. Just make sure to patch things up before she makes any crazy ideas. She’s very impulsive when she deals with emotional problems. And I won’t be able to totally control her once she works with her friends. So start working on your plans on winning her back. I wouldn’t want a news about your marriage problems to suddenly appear on the front page of a magazine,” Hikaru uttered with a serious tone in her voice.

“She’s planning of leaving?” Micky suddenly asked out loud.

“Yes, I heard her talking to one of her friends and she was already asking them to get her a plane ticket. I wasn’t able to get the exact destination. But all I know is that they are planning to leave this weekend. All her friends are also very clever when they want to protect and help her. So I can’t guarantee that I will be able to fully control Muko. If you want your wife back, you better move fast. I won’t do all the work alone,” Hikaru said as she then suddenly turned around to leave. “Before I forget, I just want you to remember something. I love my sister so much and I can never forgive anyone who breaks her heart. So you better take good care of her or else you wouldn’t like the things I can do.”

Hikaru then quickly left, leaving Xiah, Jaejoong, U-Know and Max still shaking with fear with her words.

“She’s really scary,” Max uttered.

“She’s a devil in disguise… She’s pretty but totally evil inside,” Jaejoong added.

“I think even if she’s like that. She still has a point. Micky, you should settle the problem between you and Muko before it gets out of hand. You should move fast. If she’s really planning to leave, then it would just make things more complicated for both of you,” U-Know tried to reason with his friend.

“Micky… decide or else you might end up regretting in the end,” Xiah said with a serious look on his face.

*******************

Muko was quietly packing her clothes in her bag when Hikaru unexpectedly entered her room.

“What are you doing?” Hikaru asked.

Muko was startled. She didn’t expect her sister to return so quickly. “I… I am just fixing some of my clothes. Just in case, I suddenly need to go somewhere.”
“If you’re planning to leave, just forget it. You’re staying here. You have to fix your problem with your husband. You can’t just run away,” Hikaru uttered.
“Hikaru, don’t you get it? He doesn’t want me in the first place. He’s just doing this because he’s forced. Please just let me go… Let him go too…. I know you can cover my tracks… Just make up some story about me going to study. I know the Japanese media will believe whatever news you put out. You have control over a lot of Korean and Japanese media people, so you wouldn’t have any problem controlling any news about me and Micky,” Muko uttered with a low voice. “Please I’m begging you… I don’t want to go back to him.”

“No, what are you planning to do afterwards? Go back to the convent?” Hikaru asked angrily.

Muko smiled bitterly. “Maybe… I am confused right now…. But I am thinking after our marriage finally ends… maybe I can finally enter the convent.”

“I won’t let you do that. You know I am against that,” Hikaru quickly voiced out.
“But I…”

“You’re just hurt and angry. Believe me, everything will be fixed if the two of you just talk,” Hikaru quickly interrupted.

“Hikaru… I don’t want to see him anymore,” Muko repeated.

“No, you must work things out with him. You have to follow what I am saying,” Hikaru said with a much louder voice. It was obvious that she was already feeling very frustrated. But there was something more serious that she was also feeling… something strange.

“Hikaru! Your nose is bleeding… Hikaru….” Muko shrieked in fear.

Hikaru tried to wipe the blood from her nose… But the moment she saw the blood, her surrounding started to spin… and within seconds she collapsed.
“Hikaru!”

A RACE TO MY HEART (FAN FICTION) (CHAPTER 32)

CHAPTER 32

Michael went totally pale after hearing what the man in front of him was saying.
“Can… can you please repeat that again?” he said with a quivering voice. Somehow he couldn’t fully comprehend what he just heard.

“Miss Fate has already returned. She personally went to see her father. She then explained the reason why she disappeared. It seems she has been with Mr. Norman Horton the whole time she went on missing,” the man repeated.
“She was with Norman? Why would she do that?” Michael asked out loud.
“And… another thing sir… I think you should know that Mr. Horton has already talked to Mr. Nakamura and has asked for Miss Fate’s hand in marriage,” the man again informed Michael.

“What? What is going on? How come Norman suddenly becomes involve in Fate’s life all of a sudden?” Michael asked as he became more confused.
“Sir… I believe there is something going on and that you should go and talk to Miss Fate. Just like me, the other body guards who had been working for Miss Fate are all very surprised as well. We know that something is bothering Miss Fate the moment she appeared. Her eyes were all red, like she had been crying non-stop for days. Also one of my men told me that he had heard Mr. Horton instructing one of his own men to keep a close watch on Miss Fate,” the man reported again.

“This is becoming more ridiculous by the minute,” Michael said angrily. “Come on, I am going to see Fate. I have to clear everything out,” he then snatched his coat and went straight out of his apartment.

******************

“Michael,” Fate uttered the moment she saw him enter her room.

“What is going on Fate? They say you’re getting married to Norman? Is it true? Have you really gone mad?” Michael asked straight to the point. He was too angry to even try to be gentle with his words.

Fate bit her lower lip. She didn’t know how to answer Michael’s question. She knew the moment she answered. He could easily tell that she was just lying. He already knew her so well that he could easily understand a simple movement that she made.

“Fate? What’s wrong? Why are you suddenly marrying Norman? Tell me,” Michael shouted.

Stunned, she just stared at him. “I… I really don’t know what to say Michael. I’m sorry... I didn’t want to keep a secret from you… but…”

“You’re lying! What’s wrong?” Michael hissed with irritation.

“Michael,” somehow it was the only thing that Fate could say at that moment.
“Why did you disappear? And how come Norman is involved all of a sudden? Don’t tell me you were having a relationship with him… because I won’t buy it. I am not dumb. I know you so well. You never liked him more than just a friend.  So don’t convince me that you really like him so much that you’re willing to marry him. Tell me what’s going on… or you won’t like what I am going to do next,” Michael said as a threat.

“Michael… just let me make this decision… please,” she begged him. It was like she didn’t have the strength to even argue and explain everything to him.
“No! I want the truth… and I want answers. I won’t leave unless you tell me what is happening to you,” Michael uttered seriously.

Fate just lowered her head and slowly shook her head. “You can’t force me to tell you anything… because there is nothing to talk about. I am going to marry Norman… and that’s the end of the story. I really don’t care whether you like it or not. And I don’t care if you believe in the things I am saying. Just leave me alone,” she said with a raised tone.

Surprised, Michael stared at Fate more closely. “Fate, it’s me Michael… I thought we didn’t have any secrets from each other. We’re like twins remember? I know everything about you, and you know everything about me. How come you’re acting like this? I am really concerned about you…”

Fate quickly turned away to look at another direction. She didn’t want to see the sadness in Michael’s eyes. “Just go… I don’t want to talk to you anymore,” she uttered coldly.

Michael shook his head. Somehow he was trying to wake himself up. He couldn’t believe what was happening was really a part of reality.

“You heard her… she said she doesn’t want to talk to you anymore… So I suggest you leave,” a man’s voce suddenly said.

Michael quickly turned to look at the man who was only a few inches away from him. It was Norman.   “You,” he uttered as he hurriedly went up Norman and grabbed his shirt. “What did you do to Fate?”

Norman just let out an irritating laugh. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. We have been lovers for quite sometime already even before she and that Max met… But I just allowed her to do whatever she pleases since I know she will always come back to me.”

“You’re a liar. She never had a relationship with you. If she did, she would have told me,” Michael uttered as he tightened his grip on Norman’s shirt.

“Believe what you want to believe… I don’t care as long as you don’t interfere in our marriage,” Norman said with a frightening look in his eyes.   Michael slowly released Norman. It was like his strength was giving up

“Michael, please… I think you should leave,” Fate uttered. She felt like the more she looked at Michael, the more she wanted to just run and break free. She wanted to just run up to him and cry her heart out. She wanted to tell him everything, but she knew she couldn’t. It wasn’t allowed.

“Fate, this is absurd. You’re not like this. If Norman is making you do this because he’s blackmailing you or something… just tell me, I will help. We can fight him Fate. You’re not the type of girl who would allow herself to be manipulated by someone else. You’re a strong girl, Fate. Don’t do this to yourself,” Michael tried to remind his friend.

Fate felt like she wanted to just shout out everything that was happening. But she was afraid. She was afraid of the consequences. She needed to stay quiet or something bad might happen. At that exact moment, she felt totally helpless.
Unexpectedly… tears started to fall down from her eyes. “Michael, please… just leave me alone,” she said as she slowly closed her eyes to somehow stop herself from crying.

“No, I won’t go… not until you tell me what is going on. Why are you marrying Norman? I thought you said you still loved Max? Why are you suddenly marrying him? Tell me!” Michael shouted as his whole body was somehow trembling. He was mad and afraid, both at the same time. He felt like he just wanted to beat up Norman and get everything undone. But he knew it wasn’t that simple.

“I’m sorry,” was the only thing Fate could utter.

“Sorry? So you’re just going to let him use you? Fate… please…” Michael started to beg. Right at that moment, he felt like he just wanted to cry. He had never felt so useless in his entire life.

“Leave,” Norman uttered with a grin. He was so happy seeing the mixed up emotions tearing up Michael’s soul.

Michael glared at Norman. “What have you done? I knew you were evil, but I never expected you would go this far. Why can’t you just leave her alone? She doesn’t like you. Why do you have to go to so much trouble just to have her when you could have other girls intend? You’re rich, good looking, successful… Why do you keep on pushing yourself to her?”

Norman laughed. “Simple. I like her. And everything I like… I get. I have never… ever let anything I like be taken by someone else. What I like… will always be mine.”

“You’re not a man but a monster! You’re totally despicable,” Michael said with anger.

“Thank you. That is a great complicate for me. At least, I know I am really successful in taking what I like,” Norman said again with an irritating laugh.

Two men suddenly walked into Fate’s room, then they immediately walked up to where Michael was standing.

Norman grinned. “Guys, please escort Fate’s guest out of the house… He’s leaving now…”

Michael stared at Fate. He instantly saw the sadness in her eyes. “Fate, I am leaving… But I promise, I will return. I will find a way to help you.” Norman couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

“Good luck. Now you’re making me curious as to how you’re going to help her… when she doesn’t even want to help herself.”

“Fate… just take care of yourself while I am gone…” Michael uttered softly.

*******************

A day later…

Max and the other DBSK boys were all busy preparing for their interview in a TV station when someone unexpected suddenly walked into their room.

“Max… I need your help,” Michael uttered.
